Art in the City

Discover the works of art in Rome: from the ancient Roman ruins of the Colosseum to the Impressionism of Cezanne and Duchamp's ready-made masterpieces

Rome has always offered visitors the opportunity to experience art in the city: shows and temporary exhibitions will fascinate those who love art in all its forms.

You can not miss the exhibition "Cezanne and the artists of the 900" staged at the ‘Complesso del Vittoriano” from October 5th 2013 to February 2nd 2014, dedicated to Paul Cezanne, the real connection between the late nineteenth-century Impressionism and Cubism in the twentieth-century Matisse and Picasso art and Boccioni's Futurism.

If you are fond of the most controversial works of art, we invite you to the exhibition "Duchamp, re-made in Italy", hosted from 8th October 2013 al February 9th 2014 in the National Gallery of Modern Art, to celebrate the centenary the birth of the "Bicycle Wheel", the first work of Duchamp's ready-mades.
The title of the exhibition comes from the first solo exhibition in Italy, dating back to 1964, when Italy for the first time knew the works of Duchamp.
